Ohio State University Extension is the outreach arm of The Ohio State University with local offices in each of Ohio's 88 counties.  The Holmes County Office offers diverse programming for our citizens.

It is our job to make the resources of The Ohio State University available to all of the citizens of Holmes County - rural, urban, all ages, sizes, and races.

Out for Blood: Ticks, Lyme Disease Cases on the Rise in Ohio
Ticks are small arachnids that hang out along woodland edges, in woods, tall grass, weeds and underbrush. Like mosquitoes, ticks feed on the blood of birds, reptiles and mammals, including humans and pets. In doing so, ticks can transmit a variety of diseases, such as Rocky Mountain spotted fever and Lyme disease.
